Another in the Lagunitas Frank Zappa series. This year it’s Lumpy Gravy which pours a dark amber. Super fresh, foamy head. The initial aroma is of crusty Italian bread with hints of brown sugar and grape soda. The taste is of semi sweet cocoa and brown sugar with huge dry hop flavor after the sweetness. A tad bitter aftertaste, like a dry pilsner. This beer will impress fans of the Amber or Nut Brown Ale style & also people who love hops. Another solid beer from Lagunitas, not a big step from their normal strong hoppy ale offerings, but another tasty brew. Pours dark copper with a tall off-white head. Toasty malts against a very floral hop finish.
